Bill Pidto joined MSG in 2009 and currently serves as the studio host for New York Knicks and New York Rangers road games. When not appearing on MSG, Pidto can be heard on the Sirius XM Radio show "The B Team with Bruce Murray and Bill Pidto."
Formerly, Pidto served as an anchor for ESPN from 1993 to 2008. When ESPN2 was launched in 1993, Pidto was hired to anchor the program SportsSmash, and hosted NHL 2Night when it debuted in 1995. That same year, Pidto also joined NFL Primetime. During his tenure at ESPN, he also served as an anchor for Baseball Tonight and SportsCenter.
Pidto graduated from Cornell University in 1987. While majoring in psychology at Cornell, he began his broadcasting career as a sports anchor and reporter for WVBR, a radio station in Ithaca, New York. After graduation, Pidto spent the following two years directing the sports programming for WBNG-TV, located in Binghamton, New York. He continued his career in central New York moving to Syracuse in 1989 for a sports anchor position at WSTM-TV, an NBC affiliate. Following a couple short lived broadcast stints, Pidto broke in with ESPN as a field producer for "Scholastic Sports America" a weekly show dedicated to high school athletics.
A native New Yorker, Pidto lived in Manhattan until he was eight years old, and then moved to Palo Alto, CA. He lives with his wife Carol and daughters Maggie and Sylvie in West Hartford, CT.
